Editor’s Note: My friend Heidi of Heidi’s Head has graciously written this wonderful guest post. Be sure to stop by her blog and visit her social media pages for more Disney fun!
A few years ago, my kids and I visited Walt Disney World in September to attend the Ultimate Field Trip for homeschoolers. We were there during the Night of Joy festivities, but opted out of the experience. My son was only 6 years old at the time, and I wasn’t sure he’d be willing to sit/stand through the entire night, listening to music. In hindsight, based on the fact that the child sings during all his waking hours, I think he may have loved the event. So, if we’re ever lucky enough to be in the area again when Night of Joy is on the Disney agenda, I’ll definitely consider buying tickets!
What is Night of Joy?
Well, actually, it should be called “NightS of Joy” because the event takes place over 2 evenings. Held in the Magic Kingdom in September, Night of Joy is a Christian Music Festival featuring artists from all genres of Christian music (pop, gospel, and rock). This year’s event is scheduled for September 5th and 6th.
Night of Joy is an after-hours event that requires an additional ticket (in other words, it’s not included with your park admission). Single night tickets are $59 (plus tax) if purchased in advance or $69 (plus tax) on the day of the show. A two-night ticket option is also available for $108 (plus tax). Tickets can be purchased by going to NightofJoy.com or by calling 407-W-DISNEY. (Group pricing – for 10 or more guests – is also available.)
Event hours are 7:30pm – 1am each evening.

What else should I know?
Artists perform on various stages throughout the Magic Kingdom, so you can pick and choose which one(s) you are interested in seeing.
Many Magic Kingdom attractions are available during the after-hours event.
I recommend “liking” Night of Joy on Facebook to stay up-to-date with the latest event news. There are also lots of event pictures available here.
Will you go?
So, what do you think? Is Night of Joy an event that you would like to attend?
Even though my kids and I didn’t actually attend the event, we were excited to be walking through the Magic Kingdom on the day of the event and literally bumping into the guys from Kutless! It was a highlight of that trip. You just never know who you may rub elbows with at Walt Disney World!
