When I saw Moana in theaters, I instantly fell in love with the new Disney film. As someone who loves the islands and being on the sea, this new film with a Disney princess who feels the call of the ocean really resonated with me. The film follows the story of Moana as she sets off on an adventure to save her island. She is guided by her ancestors and a demi-god called Maui. Moana’s story is filled with lovable characters, including her adorable sidekicks, Pua the pig and Heihei the chicken.
In addition to the film’s thrilling story and memorable characters, Moana is filled with wonderful music. The talented trio of Broadway composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, composer Marc Mancina, and Samoan singer/songwriter Opetaia Foa’i worked together to create remarkable music to accompany Moana. The film’s anthem How Far I’ll Go is stunningly sung by 16 year old Auli’i Cravalho. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to watch her brilliant Oscar performance of How Far I’ll Go.
From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, an epic adventure about a spirited teen who sets sail on a daring mission to save her people. Along the way, Moana (Auli‘i Cravalho) meets the once mighty demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson), and together they cross the ocean on a fun-filled, action-packed voyage. Bring home the movie full of heart, humor and oceans of bonus extras!
