D23 Expo Japan has been taking place over the last few days. As with any D23 Expo, there have been several exciting announcements about Disney parks around the world. Let’s take a look at some of the new announcements!
Pixar Fest will be coming to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure beginning April 13. As part of the festivities, Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular will take place to Disneyland. This new show will feature projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle, it’s a small world, the storefronts of Main Street, and water screens on the Rivers of America. The spectacular will also include dazzling fireworks, music from the Pixar films, and a castle flyover by Buzz Lightyear!
Pixar Pier will open at Disney California Adventure on June 23, 2018. This new land will have four separate areas representing four different Pixar stories. The highlight of Pixar Pier will be the Incredicoaster which will be themed to the upcoming film The Incredibles 2.
As if the Paint The Night Parade wasn’t already amazing enough, this dazzling parade will soon have a new float celebrating The Incredibles. The new float will feature Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, Violet, Dash, Jack-Jack, and Frozone.
It was announced last year that Walt Disney World would get a Star Wars themed hotel, but now we have even more details on what this fully immersive hotel experience will be like. Disney has now confirmed the new hotel will be seamlessly connected to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the new Star War land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In addition, Disney has released the following concept art showing special windows which will allow guests to see out into the galaxy.
Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railway’s
At D23 Expo Japan, Disney revealed some new concept art for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attraction is scheduled to open in 2019.
Guardians of The Galaxy Attraction
D23 Expo Japan also brought us some new information regarding the Guardians of The Galaxy attraction previously announced as coming to Epcot. The new attraction will feature an innovative new ride system. It will also be one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the entire world!
Marvel at Disneyland Paris
We also now have more details on the previously announced Marvel hotel coming to Disneyland Paris. This themed hotel will be named Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. The new hotel will feature modern rooms decorated with stylish posters of the Marvel superheroes and is scheduled to open in 2020.
A hotel is not the only new Marvel addition to Disneyland Paris. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Walt Disney Studios will be re-themed to Marvel. Concept art shows Iron Man in what looks to be the queue area.
Ant-Man & The Wasp
Ant-Man & The Wasp will soon join Iron Man, who is already at Hong Kong Disneyland. In the new attraction, guests will team up with Ant-Man & The Wasp to fight off Arnim Zola and his army of Hydra swarm bots. This attraction is sure to be tons of fun!
With so many announcements of new attractions for the parks, I’m so excited for the future of Walt Disney World and the other parks around the world. Which announcement are you most excited about? Let me know in the comments which park around the world you would most like to visit once these new attractions are completed.
