The 2017 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival takes place from August 31st until November 13, 2017. This year’s festival brings several new additions to the festivities, including new artists for the Eat To The Beat concert series and new marketplaces.
The Eat To The Beat concert series takes place in the America Gardens Theatre and is included with park admission. Guests have the option of booking an Eat To The Beat dining package which includes dinner at one of 15 Epcot table service restaurants, as well as, reserved seating for the concert. Atists new to this year’s Eat To The Beat line-up include The Hooters, Baha Men, Lauren Alaina, Mark Wills, American Authors, Devon Allman, 10,000 Maniacs, Blue October, and Squeeze.
In addition to returning favorite marketplaces, the 2017 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will feature five brand new marketplaces where guests can try delicious foods and drinks from around the world.
Flavors From Fire, located in Future World West this new marketplace features spicy foods such as Chocolate Picante and Smoked Corned Beef paired with beverages such as Swine Brine and Ravenswood Zinfandel.
Light Lab, also located in Future World West, features bubbly drinks, vitamin waters, and brews. This marketplace includes two tasty non-alcoholic beverages, a citrus apple freeze and a vanilla tonic water and cotton candy drink.
Active Eats in Future World West offers action-packed selections including a delicious Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese with Nueske’s® pepper bacon, cheddar cheese, peppers, and green onions.
Also in Future World West, the Coastal Eats marketplace features seafood inspired dishes such as Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip and Seared Scallops paired with Erath Pinot Gris or Soter Planet Pinot Noir.
The Almond Orchard hosted by Blue Diamond Almond Breeze® is locoated in Showcase Plaza and offers dishes created with Almond Breeze Almondmilk. Food offerings include Fire-roasted Tomato Hummus and Banana Almond Soft-serve Sundae. This marketplace also offers a Strawberry Smoothie and three different types of champagne.
Though not brand new, this year’s festival also brings the return of three Global Marketplaces not present in the last few years. India and Thailand are returning for the first time since 2009. Spain returns to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival for the first time since 2010.
Meet The Chefs at this year’s festival will allow guests to see their favorite celebrity chefs, as well as, Walt Disney World chefs in action. New personalities for this year’s festival include Chad Johnson, Daniella Malfitano, Jet Tila, Kim Yelvington, Shaun O’Neale, Stephanie Hersh, and Stuart O’Keeffe.
If you visit the 2017 Epcot Food & Wine Festival, be sure to pick up a Festival Passort to see all of the delicious offerings and keep track of which marketplaces you’ve visited. I had the opportunity to visit the festival last week. It was so much fun to try the foods from around the world. As a fan of Caribbean food, I highly recommend the Mojo Pork from the Islands of The Caribbean marketplace in Showcase Plaza. The Pão de Queijo cheese bread from Brazil, located between Morocco and France, was also delicious. Have you tried any of the festival offerings? Let me know which is your favorite or which one you would like to try in the comments.
