Toy Story Alien Cupcakes

Toy Story Alien Cupcakes

I love cupcakes! I mean, who doesn’t? They’re delicious! And on top of that, there are so many great ways you can decorate them! You can even make them look like your favorite Disney characters!

A while ago, I found a recipe for Toy Story alien cupcakes on The cupcakes looked so cute I just had to make some for myself; however, I did modify the recipe just a little bit. For my cupcakes, I used chocolate cake mix. Rather than using store bought icing, I decided to go with a family recipe for homemade buttercream icing. I set aside some of the icing to remain white and with food coloring dyed a little bit of icing black for the eyes. I used blue and yellow food coloring to achieve the right color of green for the remaining icing.

As you can probably guess from the colors of my icing, I decided not to use Mentos for the eyeballs. Something about Mentos and chocolate cake just didn’t sound all that great to me. So after icing each cupcake with green icing, I added three spots of white icing for the eyes. Next, I used the black icing to create mouths and pupils on the eyes.

For the ears and antennas, I used green apple Air Heads. I cut out triangles and thin rectangles from several pieces of candy. I then placed two triangles on either side of each cupcake. The thin rectangles were then placed at the top of each cupcake. And there you have it – a bunch of delicious Toy Story aliens!

Have you made any Disney themed cupcakes? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
