Wordless Wednesday: J For Jafar

Wordless Wednesday Jafar

This week’s Wordless Wednesday theme is the Disney letter “J.”  This picture with Jafar was taken at the Soundstage Restaurant at MGM in the 1990’s.  The restaurant was located in the building which now houses the Playhouse Disney show.  Throughout our meal, we were greeted by several characters from Aladdin.  Meeting Jafar was by far the  most memorable experience of the meal!  I got up to have my picture made with him.  After the picture was taken, Jafar, being the Disney villain he is, proceeded to take me with him rather than returning me to my family.  It was pretty funny and something I have never forgotten.

Kimberly's love of Disney began at an early age and grew even more when her family won a Walt Disney World vacation from a local radio station. She grew up visiting the parks every one to two years and is fascinated by Disney history and trivia. Whether at the parks or at home, Kimberly is constantly looking for hidden Mickeys. Cool! He is elusive!! I’ve only seen Jafar in the parades and at the MNSSHP. To those trying to seek him out, you can get your pic with him after the Villian Mix and Mingle.

Great memory, I’d almost forgotten about the Soundstage I got to go once or twice. But in the end Jafar is a great J, thanks for sharing!

    • Thanks! I only went to the Soundstage that one time. I always thought it was just an Aladdin restaurant until I was searching for more info about it a while ago. Apparently they changed out the characters, etc. for different movies, which I thought was a pretty cool idea!

  • Love it! Wow, I remember when Jafar made appearances in the parks. Scared all the little kids! Great “J”! Thanks for sharing and for joining in on the DWW Blog Hop fun!

Love the look and feel of this site. Frontierland is my favorite!!

    • I guess I probably was…not brave enough for Tower of Terror though! My parents had to make me ride that one. I was terrified when we got to the boiler room, but I ended up loving it after I finally rode it.
Thanks! Frontierland is my favorite too!

  • What a cute story and an adorable picture! We’ve never met Jafar and boy, he does look a bit scary.
